I have been making things since I can remember.
Photography. Writing. Drawing. The impulse is always the same — to pay close attention to something, and then try to hold it still long enough to share it.
I never quite succeed. That is the whole point of continuing: seeking is the journey.

I got my first camera at five years old - a hand-me-down from my mother. I have not put one down since.
For me, photography has always been a somatic practice, even before I knew what that meant. When I am behind the lens, the world gets quiet. The peripheral noise drops away, and there is only the light in front of me, the breath in my body, and the question of whether this moment can be translated into something a stranger might feel.
My work is elemental, slow, unhurried. I am drawn to the places where earth and humanity feel most like itself: coastlines, open water, skyscrapers, the quality of late afternoon light on a surface that has been there for longer than any of us. I photograph in search of a particular quality of ephemeral beauty that exists in the world, but resists capture. The pursuit is the practice.
My current limited-edition collection, stop/motion, was conceived in the Drake Passage — one of the most remote, elemental, and humbling oceans on earth. Each print is made from giclée ink on Epson cold press paper. Made to last, they are signed, numbered, and limited to editions of ten or fifteen. They will not be reprinted.

Writing is the other way I know how to become present.
I have been writing for nearly as long as I have been making art. You name it, I write it: poems, essays, fiction, technical papers, and everything in between. Like photography, I have learned writing is one of the best ways to access something true.
My written work moves between:
Poetry — attentive and concerned with the same things as my photography: light, impermanence, the body's knowledge, the beauty of what is fleeting, what it means to be human. Collections in progress.
Creative fiction and personal essays — on neuroaesthetics, slow living, the life of a scientist who became an artist, and what fifteen years in nuclear security taught me about the things that actually matter. Published through Substack. Plus, a historical novel in progress.
Practical guides — for nervous system regulation, career transitions, and building a somatic practice. These eBooks live in the shop.
photography is in my soul
Science is not the only way to explain the world — and in fact is best suited for testing hypotheses that are measurable. As a result, science is limited by the pace of technical progress and the boundaries of human imagination. This is where art, spirituality, and emotion are needed to fill the voids that science leaves behind.
My curiosity leads to experimentation: in a laboratory, on a computer, behind a camera, on a yoga mat. The impulse is always the same. In search of something true.
I believe that making art is not a hobby or a side interest. It is one of the oldest and most fundamentally human acts there is — practiced for 50,000 years, across every culture, in every corner of the earth. It is what separates us from every other species. It is what separates us from artificial intelligence.
A life without art is not a fully human life.
